Buncheong Lidded Pot
Buncheong is one of the most traditional techniques employed in Korean art. Applied on stoneware, it is characterised by an earthen colour. Decorations can be either made with white slip or iron. Here is an exquisite lidded pot, H17, D16cm.
Artist IntroductionYoo Byungho has been collaborating with Master Shin Sangho for many years. Artist Yoo studied at Hong-ik Univerisity, department of Craft Design of Fine Arts. His works belong to the buncheong tradition to which they add with exquisitely designed and crafted works of art. Some of his works are part of permanent Royal Trust Collection. The floral motif of the chrysanthemum is often present, carrying a deep symbolic value of Confucian origin.
