Small Buncheong Jar
Min Seung-ki is an artist who gives his pieces a distinctive look through brushwork. The artist embraces the buncheong tradition and applies white slip on the surface of the pots to decorate them.
When using white slip, he employs an ancient technique called ‘guiyal’, which consists on applying the white slip through dynamic brushstrokes.
“When ceramic works leave the potter, then they soon become objects within one’s space”. This quote shows the artist’s outlook on the journey a ceramic piece embarks on from the studio to the purchaser’s home.
