White Porcelain Wine Bottle
19th century, Porcelain
A white porcelain wine bottle with blue slip chrysanthemum design, 19th Joseon dynasty (1392-1897) height 28cm. This bottle displays the typical full, low bodied, long necked shape of Korean wine flasks of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. With tubular necks and broad bases Joseon wine bottles have a solid satisfying shape as well as a practical advantage of making the vessels difficult to overturn.
