The Emergence and Resonance of Ink

The Emergence and Resonance of Ink

Grounded in the materiality and temporality of ink, this work follows the flow of liuzhuan

(袢黈), where emergence and dissolution unfold continuously. Ink moves beyond representation, remaining as a self-evolving and continuous flow.

Flowers and birds, based on the tradition of classical painting, dissolve from fixed forms into traces of qi. Between diffusion and emptiness, forms appear and fade without completion, leaving a lingering resonance.

Subtle color, tonal variations of ink, and the dynamics of dry brush and shifting brush lines build layers of time and responsiveness, while emptiness opens into a space where perception and contemplation remain.

Ultimately, the pictorial space transcends representation, becoming a field of experience where the resonance between nature and the inner self arises, dissolves, and endures.
