Porcelain Wine Bottle
12cm x 5cm, 16th century, Joseon Dynasty (1392 - 1897)
White Porcelain
This white porcelain wine bottle is a wonderful example of the flowing curves commonly found in the white porcelain of the early Joseon period. The rim of the bottle is rounded and curves outwards, while the neck is short and narrow. The body gently curves from the neck to the base. The foot, which is relatively wide and trimmed, is typical of high quality porcelain wares of the late 15th to 16th century.
